To avail this service the couple has to provide date of birth proof of husband and wife, address proof of husband and wife, marriage photo, marriage invitation card from any one side, passport size photo of husband and wife.
Two witnesses who can be parents, friends, neighbours, relatives or siblings with pan card and address proof also required. Pan card is mandatory document.
The above required documents can be collected from the address of client by us or client can submit the same at our office also. Address is in last line. Office working days and timings are Monday to Saturday 9 AM to 6 PM.
Appointment for Marriage Certificate Delhi from concerned SDM will be arranged thereafter within 1 or 2 working days and parties with two witnesses will appear in SDM court as per appointment schedule. For Special Marriage Act three witnesses are required and they all will have to appear.
Appointment can be arranged under general or urgent category. Government fee is Rs 1000 extra for tatkal. Registration Fee of Delhi Government is Rs 500.
There is penalty of Rs 500 if marriage is not registered within 60 days and penalty increases to Rs 1000 if registration is not done within 120 days.
Marriage Certificate is a Government issued legal document which proves a marriage between a male and a female. Names of both husband and wife with their parentage, address, date of birth, date of marriage, place of marriage are mentioned on this document. This document is acceptable world over as proof of marriage.
If marriage is done between two Hindus then registration is done under Hindu Marriage Act and marriage certificate is issued in 21 days in general appointment and in 1 or 2 days in tatkal appointment. Hindus, Sikhs, Jain and Buddhists are covered under Hindu Marriage Act.
If marriage is between Muslims, Christians or inter- religious bride and groom then marriage is governed by Special Marriage Act and it takes around 38 to 40 days to get marriage certificate. Husband, wife and three witnesses have to appear twice under Special Marriage Act.
Under Special Marriage Act first appearance is done within 2 to 4 days and second after 30-34 days. There is no way in which any appearance can be exempted.
Anand Marriage Act applies to married couples of Sikh community only. The procedure is same as Hindu Marriage Act but an extra form has to be filled which should be attested by any gazetted officer.
Christian couple can register their marriage under Christian Marriage Act also. Two visits are required under this Act and it normally takes 5 to 7 days to get the marriage certificate.
For Muslims the Nikahnama should be in English otherwise translation from Urdu or Arabic to English by a government approved translator is required.
